Product Description

After her initial DS debut, Mama is whipping up some kitchen competition by pitting chef against chef in Cooking Mama Cook Off – a unique 2 player family game designed specifically for the Wii home video console. Step-by-step, recipe-by-recipe, help Mama cook international dishes from 10 different nations and watch as the realistic foods actually change in appearance based on your actions!

FEATURES
  • The Wii Remote is your ultimate cooking utensil, putting you in total control of the cooking action as you chop, grate, slice, stir, roll and much more! Hold and point it in many different ways depending on the task (i.e. upright to mash potatoes, lengthwise to fry in a pan, etc.) to get the real sensation of cooking in a kitchen!
  • All-new Cooking Challenge Mode lets you and a friend go head-to-head in the ultimate multiplayer cook off to determine who can cook the fastest with the fewest mistakes.
  • Create 55 real world dishes from 10 different nations: Japan, America, France, India, Mexico, England, China, Spain, Germany and Italy. You can even make desserts like cream puffs and pudding too! From hot dogs to pan fried crab to bouillabaisse, Cook Off challenges you to make it all!
  • Realistic graphics with real-time effects make you feel like you’re actually cooking. Adjust your timing and make decisions about your next course of action based on what you see on screen (i.e. if food is starting to look burned, quickly remove it from the burner, etc.).
  • Keep your kitchen fancy and fresh by earning items that bring your kitchen to life (i.e. seasonings, small utensils, etc.).
  • Earn bronze, silver, and gold medals from Mama based on the quality of your cooking.
  • Practice mode allows you to fine tune your cooking skills without being judged. Recipes progress from simple to complex, from small to large dishes, so do your best to meet Mama’s expectations as you unlock new dishes.

My niece loves this

Reviewer: Best Cook around,
As entertainment goes these days, this is more constructive than mindless pinpong or games like that. This game at least will keep her happy while I cook though she has much more fun playing the game than I do when I making her lunch. Its really cute watching her play mainly because I like cooking mama's accent it makes the game much more fun. It reminds me of when I use to watch that cooking shows! I'd never imagine I'd find a video game about cooking to be fun until I purchased this for my eight year old niece. She loves this game. I've played for a few minutes and even I'm hooked.
Pretty good game

For this game i wish amazon had a 3.5 star option. but since they don't i gace it 4 stars. in this game you earn recipies, play against your friends and even have a battle with the people from the country where the recipie's from for some. it is a fine game. you do eventually earn all the recipies, but then you can erase your file and start it over.
It would be fun--if you could PLAY it.

This game would probably be one of my all-time favorites...if it was different. As a big fan of the DS game, I was greatly looking forward to playing it on the Wii, especially using the multiplayer mode. Sadly, I was greatly disappointed, and so were any of the friends I played with!
Cooking Mama, being a great game in itself and a wonderful concept, FAILS in the playable department. The "instructions" are a joke--I couldn't even count how many times they left the most important instruction out! For example, when you need to rotate something like a squid, they neglect to inform you that you must be pressing the B button in order for your attempts to work. And that's not the only scenario. Over and over again, Cooking Mama is just too difficult to enjoy.
Perhaps if they explained before sending you off to fail in the actual cooking mode, this game could work. However, they do not. It's so sad that a product with endless potential fails so horribly due to carelessness on the part of the creators.
Also an issue--every time you do something, some Japanese voice comes on saying something indistinguishable, at least to everyone I know. It sounds like she's saying "You're not mine!". This just makes the game even more of a joke.
I wish I had something better to say--but you shouldn't buy this game unless you are fully prepared to be frustrated, endlessly, almost to the point of chucking the Wii remote at the TV screen.
Boring?

I've only played this game in single-player mode and it is very boring. I heard it is better with multi-player, I'll try it and hopefully it will redeem any aspect of this game. You just go through cooking recipes... It looks like it's going to be fun but I just found it boring. I finished "Order Up" before starting this and that was an extremely fun cooking game. This pales in comparison. Play it instead if you get the chance, although it doesn't have multi-player.
Very entertaining with friends.

Reviewer: B. Schroeder,
When I got the first Cooking Mama for the Nintendo DS, I loved it and got Cooking Mama: Cook Off in a flash. At that time, when someone had a Wii it was the most popular thing (cause of them being in such high demand). So all my friends came and played this game with me and it was so much fun. Cooking with the hard to understand mama, was a big bunch of laughs. After a while though, we unlocked all the recipes and all deceived to move on to a different game (which became Super Paper Mario).
Although we did unlock all the recipes, I still play it but it becomes old and not really challenging. I really liked this game and its no disappointment for me. But I still think Cooking Mama is best on the DS.
