Wii soccer 2010

Review Date: February 1, 2010

Could not wait to get the Wii soccer 2010 in the mail to discover that it is not fun at all. I played the Fifa 09 for a long time and it is so much more fun but was hoping that the 2010 will update the players and give you some more options for the game settings. I would not recommend this game for the Wii and will sell this product and hope that it will get better in 2011.
Not so good

I bought this game because the FIFA 2008 I'd been playing was so much fun. This version of the game has better graphics, but took away almost all of the features which allowed you to customize the experience. The manager mode I thought was great, is not really there anymore. You can play the same manager on the same team for ever, but you can't switch teams or leagues. You don't manage a budget anymore and the "Board Expectations" has been replaced with an arcade-like ability for you to gain bonuses based on game-specific expectations. All in all, I wish I'd saved my money for a different game...Pro Evolution Soccer perhaps?
Good for playing with the kids, lousy if you want a soccer video game

The wife and kids bought me this for my birthday and I was excited to try it, being almost addicted to FIFA07 on the Gamecube. However, it's so wildly different on the Wii that, apart from the occasional game playing with my 10 and 9 year olds, I don't touch it. Way too simplified, no real control, manager mode is all but gone, and the game play is nowhere near as sophisticated. When playing against the computer, they always shoot from every free kick and routinely score from the half way line which is hardly realistic. The slow motion BEFORE the event is incredibly annoying and it has more irritating features than I can shake a stick at. If you are used to earlier or more powerful versions (I don't know what this is like on PS3 or XBox) you won't want this one.
better than 08

I got this for my kids for Christmas and they played six hours straight the first day. They say the graphics are better in FIFA 08, but that overall, FIFA 10 is the better game. The "Momentum" mode allows you to shoot in slow mtion. The controls are easy to master. You can be a manager for the season, with administrative goals and decisions to make. You can earn points which allow to "buy" bonuses for your team, like fast-healing injuries, extra speed for forwards, etc. Players are very up-to-date. My kids don't want to replace 08 yet, but seem to like FIFA 10 better overall. I paid $37.95 for the game, which is less than I've seen in stores, where price seems to run more near $45.
Addicting - Wii Fifa 10

Review Date: December 30, 2009
Reviewer: Morrigan Cider,
I have not played an EA FIFA game in the past, so this review will be one of the few not comparing it to Wii Fifa 09.
As a stand alone product, it is as addicting as all heck. The game play is very fast and requires 100% concentration or the next thing you know, your opponent will have racked up 3 or 4 goals.
The options for managing the team are a little limited, but who cares if the game play is so great - that's what action sports games are about, the playing. Playing multiplayer locally is a lot of fun. I also enjoy the "Battle for Glory" sections that play a short-simulated season of your favorite league - Go Shamrock Rovers!!
The slow motion shots, tackles, etc, are not annoying and only add to the intensity of the game - the slow motion adds more suspense (will this be a goal? will I miss it? will my goalie stop this shot?). So if you have a few friends and want to play a sports game head to head, or on the same team, I'd give this a shot. This and Tiger Woods 10 are all I play right now.
