Start a Band...the Guitar Hero Way

Guitar Hero World Tour transforms music gaming by expanding Guitar Hero's signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience that combines advanced wireless instruments with online and offline gameplay modes including online Band Career and 8-player "Battle of the Bands," which allows two full bands to compete head-to-head online. The game features a slick redesigned guitar, an authentic electronic drum kit, and a microphone, as well as a Music Studio music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock ‘n’ roll anthems.

Wireless Instruments

New to GHWT is a redesigned, more responsive guitar controller, which features a touch-sensitive slide bar on the neck that allows the player to play through certain song passages without needing to strum. Check out the drum kit featuring three drum pads, two raised cymbals, and a bass kick pedal. The drum controller combines larger and quieter, velocity-sensitive drum heads with soft rubber construction to deliver authentic bounce back and is easy to set up, move, break down and store.

Be the Next Great Songwriter

Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch utilizing the guitar controller and drum kit. Players can create their tracks and then play them in-game or share the recordings with the entire Guitar Hero community through GHTunes. GHTunes allows other gamers from around the world to download and play the community's original tracks.

Create the Band

Budding rock stars can live out their rock ‘n’ roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience. When rocking as part of a band, up to four players can jam together in quickplay or as they progress through a career. Both band and single-player careers feature non-linear progression giving artists the option to change difficulty and instruments with a variety of different gigs available at any time.

Never Jam Solo Again

Virtual musicians in need of band mates can take their careers online forming worldwide ensembles so no rock star ever has to play a gig solo. Plus, GHWT adds a "Battle of the Bands" modes, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to establish global supremacy.

A Game Play Mode Just for the Wii

Jump into the "Mii Freestyle" game play mode that is unique to the Wii. Create Blues, Rock or Metal masterpieces by yourself, or join with friends to jam freely together on guitar controllers and the drum kit controller.

Customize Everything

The character creator allows gamers to create a rock star with style as unique as their own. Absolute customization from the clothes, to the facial and body structure, to the tattoos and accessories, players are encouraged to unleash their inner rock legend. The Rock Star Creator doesn't just allow players to build the ultimate rock god; the in-depth creators include the ability to customize guitars, drums and microphones. Adding yet another layer of personalization, gamers can create custom logos for their instruments, band, or album covers.

A Set List for the Ages

The Guitar Hero World Tour set list is comprised entirely of master recordings from some of the greatest artists of all-time including Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. There are over 85 tracks, plus frequent downloadable singles and track packs. In addition to the killer track list, the game will feature rock icons such as Hayley Williams of Paramore and Travis Barker of +44 and blink-182.

Great Game, More Music

Review Date: July 1, 2010
Reviewer: TweenMom,
Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit is a great party game. It was on my daughter's wish list for her 13th birthday party. It was a hit. I only wish there were other music genres to choose from. Rock and Roll is fine, and challenging for the guitar solos, but I would like to choose from R&B, Pop, Alternative, and Reggae - that might be a stretch. But, overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.
Rock concerts NO fun with NO drums!!

Reviewer: d.r.shek,
I got this as a gift to my cousin. When he opened and started playing it, the drums immediately proved faulty. All of the seller's return information indicate that I cannot return or exchange it due to the downtime between my receiving the game and my cousin's wedding, which this was a gift for (~3 weeks). Why such a short return window of 7-14 days? What about people who buy things as gifts... what do WE do?!?!

I have already tried to contact the seller through Amazon, and am waiting to hear back to see if there is some way to get the defective drums replaced. My cousin tells me that this is a somewhat common problem, from what he could find online.

Very dissatisfied. Will not be purchasing from Pet City Direct through Amazon ever again if this problem is not corrected promptly.
Good game, TERRIBLE hardware

Reviewer: T. Temprano,
I bought this game and imported it to Venezuela (costed me 80$ to ship it here). After arriving I opened the box only to find out that the drum set was not working at all.

I contacted activision and they told me that they couldn't do anything and recommended me to go to a certain web site that sells spare parts.

After it became obvious that the warranty would not work for me I started looking online for repair guides.

I found out that the DRUM BRAIN controller was dead and had to buy a new one. After this the drums work fairly nice but have some sensitivity issues on the cymbal pads.

On the two or three weeks it took the spare part to arrive I played with the guitar only and to my surprise, the strumming bar does not respond well when pulling it up.

All in all... This is a good game but the hardware plainly sucks. I've heard that the Band Hero hardware is way better than this.
Perfect for Rockin Out

I brought this as a gift for my niece (15 Yrs old) she loves it. If it weren't for the neighbors She'd play 24/7. Worth every penny to keep them out of your hair, buy disks separately for more songs - more fun & variety.
lots of family fun

Reviewer: S. Stephenson,
We have enjoyed this game for the last three months. We even play it when the kids are not around! The one downside is that you do have to have the four Wii remotes to do all four instruments but at least it came with a guitar, drums and microphone. Great price for everything it included. Thought the song selection was nice, with some being pretty easy and others being a bit more difficult (all on the easy setting).
