Product Description

The Wii Component Cable links your Wii console to your TV, allowing you to view and enjoy your games with the best possible image display. Component video splits the signal into three separate channels of video information for the ultimate connection quality. The cable includes five connectors - three for video, and two for left and right stereo audio.

Product Details

  • The Wii Component Video Cable allows you to hook your Wii console system to a high-definition TV (HDTV) or enhanced-definition TV (EDTV) to view 480p progressive output. 480p progressive output displays at a higher resolution than standard 480i resolution.
  • Please note that your TV must be a high-definition TV (HDTV) or enhanced-definition TV (EDTV) to view 480p output. You will also be required to change your Wii settings from Standard TV (480i) to EDTV/HDTV to view 480p.
  • You cannot see Wii progressive display output when the Wii console system is hooked to a TV using any other kind of cable.
  • This component video cable is for the Wii and will not work with any other system. In addition, the Nintendo GameCube Component Video Cable will not work with the Wii.
  • Wii Component Video Cable Length: 8.2 ft./2.5 m

Noticeable improvement from standard A/V cable

Performs as described. I have this hooked up to a 32" LG HD LCD TV. The cable enables the images to be more detailed than using the standard composite A/V cable. I chose the officially-branded Wii component cable to ensure that our new Wii would not experience any possible warranty-voiding problems.
Great Upgrade

We upgraded from the cables that come with the Wii to this component video cable for better video image on our Plasma TV. The image with the component video cable was crisper and cleaner than that with the original cables that came with the Wii. Picture quality is much better. For us, it was worth the price.
One significant annoyance

It's worth getting the component cables if you have a TV with component inputs for the much better video quality, but these cables have one real problem: the audio cables can't be separated from the video cables. So if you have a separate monitor and sound system, you need to get an audio cable extension that will hang from the audio cable ends by the back of the monitor to run to the sound system, or extend the video cables the same way (but using the extension on the audio cables is a better idea).
What a Difference!!

Right away you notice sharper images, letters etc... & improved color. Easy 2 install. I highly recommend these cables. I think some people don't notice the difference because they forget or are unaware that they 'must' go into their Wii Settings and change the picture setting to 480P once you hook these up. Buy them don't hesitate you won't regret it!!! Fast shipping...great job Amazon ;)
30 Bucks Worth of Meh

Got the cables. I thought they would improve the picture. If they do, it is so slight it's nearly unnoticable. I have a brand-new Sony 52XBR9 which has a fantastic output, so if there was a difference I would see it, and I'm picky as heck (why else would I buy the cables?)

These cables, in my honest opinion, are not worth it. The cables that came with your Wii will do just fine. Promise.
