Freedom from the cord!

Reviewer: Helen,
I didn't really notice how much I disliked the cord until I got this. It is really nice to have freedom of movement when I am doing my exercise programs.
Gets the job done

Reviewer: A. Montgomery,
I bought this for use with the EA Sports Active in order to:
a) stop whipping my self in the face with the nunchuk cord when boxing
b) stop tangling up my hands with the cord when boxing
c) stop jerking the nunchuk out of the leg holster when running
d) stop playing Twister with the cord and the red elastic resistance band when I was doing tricept kickbacks.

It does all those things. Yay!

I have a few issues, but honestly, I was having the same problem with the corded nunchuk, so I think it's a software thing, not a hardware issue:

a) when at the track, my speed can get a little erratic - far more so than justified by any tiny adjustment to my actual running speed
b) sometimes when doing squats or lunges, it thinks I've stood up or squatted down when I haven't. This is very rare, but annoying
c) I agree with the previous assessment that the timing is not perfect in the boxing (or the baseball for that matter), but again - this was happening to me with the corded nunchuk too, so I'm thinking it's the game (it couldn't be ME....)

Additionally, there's the minor inconvenience of the fact that the adapter does not fit into the bottom of the motion plus adapter (at least not while in its nice squishy holder), so I had to take out the motion plus adapter and replace it with the nunchuk adapter. Now, the remote slops around a little in the squishy case, but honestly not enough to be considered anything other than a mega-minor annoyance.

It does seem to run down the battery on the remote pretty quickly, but I have the Energizer recharger console thingy, so I just put the remote back on the pad when I'm done, and it's all charged and ready next time I need to work out. The batteries in the nunchuk seem to be lasting quite a while - I got through a 30 day workout regimen without having to switch them out.

In all, I'm absolutely glad I bought it. If you're thinking about it, I say go for it.
Buyer Beware - 90 Warranty and it's NOT a good product

Stopped working in less than 90 days. This item only has a 90-day warranty. I didn't get around to returning it right away assuming it had a 1-year warranty like most products. Now I'm out $20 and need to spend another $20 to get another nunchuk. I will be purchasing a Nintendo branded wired nunchuk.

The wireless piece that plugs into the controller doesn't fit well with the Wii Controller case/protector. Nyko says the protector will 'strectch' to fit and it should say that the protector 'really needs to stretch' to fit over the wireless plug for the nunchuk.

I would recommend that you DO NOT purchase this Nyko Wireless Kama Nunchuk.
Does not see the negatives

Reviewer: B. Straub,
I bought this for Wii Active and I have had NO PROBLEMS! This is great! I have NEVER had a failure. It makes the works outs so much easier. My wife and I love it.
No idea why so many people are having problems with it. I have had NONE! I specifically am here to write this review to speak out against the nay-sayers. This item works!
Great Wireless Solution!

I bought this back in 2008 and I love the freedom it gave me to play Wii boxing. Unlike some others, I noticed no difference is responsiveness over the wired nunchuk. At one point it did lose connection and became unpaired, but a phone call to Nyko got it replaced almost overnight. I think Nyko is a great company and would not hesitate to order any of their products.
